P90X Part 2 - Day 28

Things have been busy this last week!!!

I've had my brain wrapped around 26in26 all week (honestly for the last 2 or 3 weeks) and have been working hard towards that...

If I'm really honest I've been putting my workouts in a lower priority than I should... not good... but I'm going to be living super intentionally for the next month... and I'm hoping working out is in there...

I mentioned it before but my main focus right now is 26in26!!! If you haven't checked it out yet please go to 26in26.com and if you'd like to skip out on giving me a birthday present donate to the 26in26 Kickstarter! All the fun starts on Wednesday!!! Don't miss out!!! February is going to be AWESOME!!!

Alright... workout inspiration! My friend Andrew recently gave me his new workout regimen for people who have little time to workout but lots of time to watch tv... it goes like this:

TV Commercial Workouts

- Car Commercial, 10 Push-Ups

- Restaurant/Fast Food Commercial, Jumping Jacks, length of commercial

- Grocery Product Commercial, Run in place, length of commercial

- Hygiene Product Commercial, 10 Sit-Ups

- Political Commercial, Wall-Sit, length of commercial

- Movie Preview, 15 Crunches

- Promotion of other Network Shows, Plank, length of commercial

- Don’t Know What It’s About Commercial, 10 Tricep Dips

- All Others, Rest

Must drink at least 12 oz. of water during one hour of television.

"It's actually pretty cool. It all seems to go by fast because you get to watch tv at the same time. You get about 15 minutes of workout every hour, which gets me off my butt for about an extra 30-45 minutes every night. It does mean that you will have to sit through DVR commercials though, unless you're extra lazy. Or if you have company over, because that would be weird." - Andrew

Hope this helps you in your fitness goals!!

26in26

Here's the big news you've all been waiting for!

After very little deliberation and against the better judgement of my doctor, friends and family I'm excited to tell you about 26in26!!!

I'm turning 26 this year and my birthday is February 26th... so I decided to mix thing up a little this year and end 25 in style!

The basic concept is this...

- From February 1st through the 25th I am going to do at least one thing a day that I've either: A: I’ve never done or B: are amazingly awesome!

- All of that is leading up to the 26th when I'm going to jump out of an airplane and go skydiving!

Even better!!! I'm going to blog, take pictures and record everything I can to share the entire experience with you on 26in26.com!!!

The best part is you can come alone too! On 26in26.com you can see the full calendar of events and join along for the entire process!

This project is going to be fun... but it's not going to be cheap... So to help differ some of the cost I've set up a Kickstarter... If you want you can just think of it as a birthday present and skip the card! (I'll be very grateful and you get cool rewards!)

There is a lot more information on the 26in26.com! So check it out and spread the word!!!

This next few weeks is going to be incredibly hectic but amazing!!! I can't wait to take you all along with me!

P90X Part 2 - Day 22

Another one bites the dust...

Week three went well... Life seems busier than ever... so working out is hard... and I've got some big plans for the future (more on that in a few days) so things are getting hectic and in the way of working out... not good.

In the near future I've decided I am going to start to work out in the mornings. It won't necessarily make things easier... but it will give me a definite schedule on when they are going to happen. It's strange most of my friends don't hang out at 7am, this should make scheduling easier! (but we should all get breakfast sometime soon... breakfast is one of my favorite meals!!!) The only real downside is I'm not a morning person so the work outs will be interesting! (bring on the coffee)

Aside from that everything has been well... Diet is ok... weight is maintaining (i'm working on loosing it... baby steps)

Oh Yeah!

In New Years Resolutions News: I've started the process of playing my music! Last week I had the first run through of my music with a band! It went really well and the guys who were playing where legitimately awesome! I'm not 100% sure how all of that will pan out but it's a fun start. I'm also entertaining the idea of doing some open mic nights just to try my songs out... you know? I'll keep you posted on that as it happens!

OK!

P90X Part 2 - Day 15

Week 2 came and went here are the highlights...

I have had a horrible week as far as working out and staying on my diet goes... horrible.

Last week I only worked out 2 days... 2 out of 5 aint bad right? Eh... Not really.
Basically the way it all played out was I was good on Monday and Tuesday...
Wednesday came and I was busy the entire evening at a going away party for some friends... one day down... not horrible.
Thursday I got incredibly sick with a stomach bug thats been going around... and I lost 6 pounds that day... not the way you want to loose weight but it happened all the same... needless to say I didn't work out that day either.
Friday as soon as work was over I headed to St Augustine for a wedding for some great friends... thats where some of the eating bad came into play... you see there is a Whataburger near St Augustine... My Kryptonite... So this happened...
but I look so happy!
Saturday was wedding and no time to work out either...

So like I said last week was a bad week for food and workout... But all things considered my weight didn't go up from the previous week... This week I have new determination. I'm going to kill it.

Also... I have some super big news coming up for February!!! Stay tuned... It is going to be life changing. Seriously.

Here's day 15's pictures...

I'm not happy that I look pregnant.

P90X Part 2 - Day 8

Soooooooo........

I may have gotten off track a little bit with my blog writing... a little... Its Tuesday and I'm writing this... In my defense yesterday was a little crazy and I didn't have a ton of time... but my bad... I apologize.

Now to the week that was!

First... I'm killing my new years resolution to read... so far I've finished two books... which is unheard of!
They where both great!!! The Hunger Games series has been super entertaining so far and Circle Makers was amazingly motivational for some dreams and prayers I have right now!

Alright now P90X! Week one was what I thought it'd be, TOUGH!!!!

At this point its been 2 months since I've really worked out... I am out of shape like whoa!

This first little bit is a readjustment period... it's weird fitting an hour workout in 5 days a week... and beyond that the work outs are tough! I remember the work outs months ago being easy to do but now they're really tough! I'm just out of the swing of things so getting my muscles back in motion is taking a while to get going...

Also... cooking for myself is a new old challenge... I know what to cook and I even have made some really good food... but its a shift from going out to eat all the time or just making quick junk food... trying to stick with the nutrition side of P90X is what really makes it worth it. Its tough but worth it.

After all this time I've finally found a protein that I like!!! If you remember from last time this is HUGE!!! It was one of my biggest struggles before... I use Muscle Milk brand and the Chocolate Malt flavor! I'd like to publicly thank Jordan Rippy for helping me find it!

All in all week one was great! I've lost 6 pounds and I'm planning on loosing a lot more!

Next week I'll try to be better about getting the blog up on Monday... my bad.

This weeks pictures!

P90X Part 2 - Day 1

Alright folks,
We're back in it! P90X ROUND TWO!!!
AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! (<--- That's a manly sound)

Here's how I plan on blogging about this... I'm going to do P90X everyday like I should but I'm only going to blog about it once a week... because if I blogged about it everyday it would get boring and I'd run out of things to say or complain all the time about how sore I am... no one wants that... therefore, Once a week! Mondays in fact. So you have that to look forward to on Monday nights... and there's not much good on TV so I hope this can be a great source of entertainment!

A refresher for you all incase you don't remember the last time I did P90X

As you can see things went really well...
(Honesty time... I was sucking in on this one ^... it feels good to get that off my chest)

At this point I've only been doing this again for one day... So there isn't a ton for me to tell you... BUT let me tell you about it! (who would pass up the opportunity to read this!)

Today felt GREAT!!! It was in no way easy (which is funny because towards the end of the last round I would blow through that work out, no problem) but it felt really good to be working out and moving again. I did the Couch to 5K thing... but even thats been a few months ago... and I fell dormant for a while... It feels really good getting back into things...

It also felt really good to be eating right again. In preparation for doing P90X again I knew I what the diet side was going to be like from the first time... So I spent the last sever days/weeks eating as horrible as possible (Proof)... seriously... anything I could think that I wanted to eat I would! Pizza, burgers, Whataburgers and a ridiculous amount of Dr Pepper... I went a little overboard... But with starting P90X again I'm sticking to the diet. It feels good to be back! I'm not used to cooking for myself this much but day 1 of homemade food was really good!

All in all today's been great... I'm really looking forward to the next 89 days!!!
Here are the Day One Pictures!
Tighter shirt this time around... not for long!

Here we go - 2012!!

Alright boys and girls! Here it is 2012! Congratulations! You made it!

I woke up today and it hit me that this really is a new year!

After this last year I needed something new! (You can read my year in review for more info on that!)

There are a lot of chances to finally do everything I've said I'm gonna do! No more procrastinating... Not with your help at least.

I realized a while back that I work very well with peer pressure... the positive kind... that's probably the only way I made it through P90X... Knowing there were people reading and watching the progress helped me stay motivated!

So I need you again.

Here are my New Years Resolutions:

1. I will read more. Thats not a tough goal... but I've recently discovered I really like reading... So I will. and a lot more of it!

2. I will make Ryan Gosling look like my nerdy little brother. By that I mean I will loose 40 pounds this year washboard abs the whole deal! But seriously, I am going to loose 40 pounds this year! That will put me in a healthy weight range for my body and will put me in a better physical state to do other things I want to do! I'm starting P90X again on Monday and I'm gonna take my diet very seriously. It's going to be phenomenally tough but I know I can do it. It's going to be beautiful. Trust me. Stick around for some quality blogging!

3. I will start playing music publicly again. I've been writing for a while now and I've got the ball rolling on some things that are going to make 2012 the year that I actually make the steps I've been talking about for years! Out of the three this one is the scariest because it's weird putting yourself out there for everyone to see... AHH!!! At the same time I'm ridiculously excited because it's been a dream for a long long time!

That's it. Just those three. I have very practical steps to make them all come true too...
I'm going to be blogging about all of it too... Stick with me... 2012 has potential to be the biggest year of my life and I want to take you all with me!!!

Here's to 2012! It's going to be the best 11.5 months EVER!!!
